I met a nurse at the place where I got my criminal background check done
She told me she has been an RN for 2 years and had work in the hospital.
She said it was Critical Care.
Basically, she resigned from her job because she said was not getting along with the other staff.
She said she has been looking for another job for close to 2 months now, without any success.
She is now recieving unemployment benefit.
One caveat though is she said she does not want nights and had rejected a part-time night position.
But it got me thinking, if she with critical care experience is finding it difficult to land a job, what about the new grads with no experience?

Hello springgarden,
The job market is indeed tough for most nurses but we do not know the exact details of this nurse's career and marketability.
Considering that she is a stranger, "did not get along with the staff" could easily mean that she was the one to cause problems.
Her specifications also narrow her job prospects. As far as I know, many new hires are often put into night shift as current employees with more seniority are put into day shift. It does not have to be a commentary on the new hires' skill levels.

You are right....I do not know full story. She most likely did not tell me the full story as we are just acquintances.
And maybe the fact that she is probably in her 40's even 50's plays a role.

An RN who resigns...turns down subsequent employment...then files for unemployment. Amazing.
