Experienced CCRN maybe relocate to New Mexico

Published

I'm curious to know what nurses local to New Mexico think about where they work. I live in Michigan but the hubby is hinting at the idea of moving to the southwest. I'm not worried about finding work, I have 5 yrs experience on a SICU / Burns unit. I'm curious about job satisfaction, and differences in regulations between the states. I heard that you have mandatory breaks in the southwest and have nurses that just break the unit nurses. Anyway, please tell me what you love and hate about working in the southwest.

Sorry you haven't gotten any responses yet.

I am somewhat familiar with NM based on work-related activity. Albuquerque Presbyterian has a good reputation among nurses in the area. The city is also large enough to provide all the urban advantages. The only hospital in Santa Fe (St. Vincent) does not have such a good rep... lots of turnover & strife - it's also a union environment.

With your background and valuable expertise, you shouldn't have any problems getting a job no matter where you go! Best of luck to you on your relocation.
