So here's my situation...
I graduated BSN in Aug 2011. Started new grad position in ICU/CCU starting Oct 2011. I just gave my 2 weeks notice due to relocating to 2 hours away from this hospital. I will have only 6 months of ICU/CCU experience when I leave.
I got a job at a pediatric office that has 4 pediatricians, 1 NP, and 5 nurses, and many front desk help.
I wanted to see what you guys think of this situation...Will I be able to get a job at the hospital on a med/surg floor after working at the pediatric office for a year? I will have 6 months ICU/CCU and 1 year pediatric office experience as a nurse. Has any of you guys gone this path?
When I look at job openings at hospitals, they say for their requirement "1 year experience". But doesn't specify what kind of nursing experience. Will my time at the ICU/CCU and pediatric office be qualified for the 1 year of experience?
I just don't want to limit my possibilities later but I am excited about this new job as well.

nope. You move around too much. What does it tell employers when you stick at a place for 6 months and another for a year? You can't tell me the people who hired you knew you would only be working for 6 months!! They never would have....So what would make this one any different?
just sayin...
Oh no, I wouldn't leave the pediatric office. I would just want to get a PRN position at the hospital later. I'm only leaving because unexpected events in my life caused me to move.
