Existing B.S, Nursing student, advice on options on furthering my education?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently enrolled in nursing school and happy to tell you I only have 2 semesters remaining to get my RN. Prior to going to nursing school I graduated with B.S. in Organizational leadership. My plan is to start working when I finish school but I do want to continue with my education. My understanding for the bachelors RN you are taking more leadership management classes. I took these type of classes obtaining my 4 year degree. My questions are:

1. Would it benifit me to take a few additional classes and to obtain my BSRN ?

2. What types of programs are out that bridge a 2yr RN, and a BS toward a masters?

First off, remember, insight... not incite... two different meanings for words that sound so very similar. (Little things like spelling can easily be a part of someone forming an impression about you, so make it good!)

I am in a similar boat as you are. I have a 1st Bachelor's under my belt. I'm in an ADN program. I want to get a BSN, which was not previously an option. Here's what I did: I contacted my local University and inquired about what it would take to "upgrade" to a BSN or qualify for entry to an MSN program from where I'm at. What it boiled down to is that I must take 4 courses after I'm done to meet the prereqs for their MSN program, and another 2 for completing a BSN program there. Or about 20 units to get ready for MSN entry and about 30 for the BSN completion.

Start gathering your info early... it'll be much easier to know what you need to do well in advance of actually implementing a plan...
