Hi I'm looking for some info on this. I will be an RRT and I'm looking at the AAS/RN program from Excelsior. I am in Louisiana. I've seen the user Lizz state that Louisiana only accept's LPN's. Does that mean that if I do not have an LPN prior to graduating from Excelsior I will not be able to get licensure in louisiana? Also, what is the basis for giving that status on Louisiana? I called the licensure department at excelsior and I told her I would be an RRT looking to enroll there, and she said she wasn't aware of any problems with Louisiana accepting excelsior. So, I'm getting conflicting info. Any info anyone has is appreciated.

Call or email the Louisiana BON. See my reply to your post in the Louisiana Forum. Good luck.

Hate to say it, but the Lousiana RN application specifically states "Graduates of Excelsior College must submit a copy of their LPN license."

They don't have an endorsement application on their site (not that I can find, anyway) so I don't know if you can license out of state and then endorse over. As always, call the state for the final word.

a friend of mine in louisiana enrolled in excelsior whose a rrt also told me she couldnt take boards in louisiana-she said she would get her license in another state and transfer to louisiana although i dont know how that will turn out.
thanks for the replies - it looks like that won't work for me. Glad I checked in to it!
