Anyone take them and is it worth the money? I'm debating on the care planning one as I'm wondering if I keep submitting care plans to Dr. A if that is sufficient enough? I also heard from someone it was a waste. I just submitted a care plan with documentation included and it got tore up pretty good! Basically I charted 'extra' things making it 'too safe.' I also posted this on the EPN, so sorry for those of you that double dip!
Any feedback greatly appreciated!!

I did the careplanning and documentation online workshops. Did I think they were worth the money? Heck no! But they did help me tremendouly. The careplanning one is overpriced but it was helpful. The documentation was was the best. If your struggling in these areas, I highly recommend them.
Thanks stevefl!! I may breakdown and buy that one as well.. After hearing from lots of people on the EPN, it sounds as if the care planning one is in fact overpriced and not worth it. I signed up for the online skills conference and am teetering on the documentation one. I am submitting things as often as possible to Dr. A, including documentation and wondering if that will be sufficient as well!! AHHHH!! Ready for it to be over!

i did not take the care planning online course but was going to ..i thought it would be well worth the money as ec is so picky when it comes to care planning.....however, i ended up getting some really good info at my workshop and that really helped me ....i didn't need someone to teach me the art of care planning ..i needed someone that could explain the ec way of care planning and also to teach me common sense stuff...like making a general care plan that can be applied to all of your patients so you are not writing new care plans on all your patients...
i didn't see this as major problem for a cpne workshop. we had two instructors, one, sheri, i don't believe attended ec, the other greg, recently completed his cpne. as far as having never having taken the cpne i don't see where that would matter if the person is teaching nursing nursing care plans and other critical elements.then again you might want to remember that most of the persons conducting the pcs have never taken the cpne themselves.
i attended the workshop this past weekend and was very impressed on the amount of information given out during the weekend. we were give care plans to work on, i emailed one about 5:00pm and received my reply while i was typing this reply. not only that type of support, cpne workshop, sheri, will also allow persons testing in atlanta, to go there the day before and practice labs and what ever else you might feel weak in.
i hope this helps you out.
personally i think if you are going to teach students about the cpne ..the framework and everything that goes in it then you need to have gone through it yourself....the cpne is nothing like the real world ......

I took Excelsior's beginning to study for the CPNE online workshop and felt it wasn't worth the money. Reading the guide gave me better info. I'm debating on the care planning and documentation workshop though.
I signed up for the skills one and documentation. I figured submitting 1 careplan a day to Dr. A will be sufficient enough for that..
