So after much thought, I'm going to do Excelsior.

I started out by trying a few online classes at my local community college, just to see if I liked that learning style rather than in the classroom. I actually ended up doing significantly better online. So after going through hours of posts on here, I decided to apply for Excelsior. I'm mailing in a copy of my license today and I will have my schools send transcripts in on Monday. Phew! Very nervous, but excited to begin this journey! Any tips, suggestions, or whatever would be greatly appreciated!

Good Luck, I got my RN degree from Excelsior in 1996. It was an intense experience, but very doable. Right now I am completing my degree in Public Health online through American Public University. I love online learning. The only advice I would give you is to keep up with your studies, try not to put anything off, and read, read, read, everything that they provide. Also, get clarification for anything that you have questions about. I'm sure you"ll do fine.:nurse:

Welcome to the EC family. i'm fairly new myself enrolled a few months ago. my advice is to focus on the material and not the time you are trying to get done with the program. i started doing that and i was reading for testing only not grasping the content of the material if that makes any sense. i'm focusing on learning what i read instead of just memorizing for the exam. my other advice is to get the books. if not from EC get them online like amazon, or the library, renting is another option as well.

good luck! i am also a new student w / excelsior lpn to rn. i started inf lit. this week. after reading several threads and comments about online studying i finally decided to go ahead for my rn, i work part time and am a mother of a 7 month old. hope to keep myself motivated and finish this w/ no problem. it would be nice to keep in touch w/ ppl that r in this track :o

Find some students here that are in the same phase of the program as you and motivate each other. Ask questions, schedule your exams before you start studying, thats what I did. Although I did put a few off days before. It kept me motivated to study by having a set date to test. Good luck, you can do it.
