Nursing Students Excelsior

Hey Y'all,

After perusing the board and looking over the topics, I see a re-occurring theme regarding Lifespan (in particular) and other courses being very tough.

So I was curious what in your opinion is the more difficult class at Excelsior? And why? (IE: the material is "dry", self studying, difficult material to comprehend, etc...)

Thanks!

I think this is different for everyone - it depends on your background and strengths. For example, anything cardiac and respiratory (I think that's in Lifespan 1 under the current curriculum) will be very familiar ground for paramedics. A lot of folks seem to struggle with LS2 because of the psych component. I think it's LS3 with metabolic and endocrine content, which can be difficult for some. The last three exams are definitely the most challenging, in my opinion.

Absolutely agree..it's going to vary from person to person based on experience and interest

I think it can still be valuable information. People should give their opinion along with their background.

i would say "transition to RN & LS3" were the hardest!!

Whichever one dealing with psych was a killer for me. I barely passed it using the process of elimination for the entire exam. But in all fairness, I only studied for it for a week. There's a LOT to be said for preparation!!;)

It will vary from person to person for me transitions and LS2 were the hardest. Transitions is so dry and memorization and a lot of information I am not interested in.. LS2 was hard because the majority was psych and I'm not a psych nurse and don't care for psych

LS3...it's the only exam I had to retake.
