FREAKING OUT! Transitions Exam

Hey everyone! I'm taking the transitions exam the day after tomorrow and I'm in freakout mode. I let my full-time job and life get the best of me, so now I'm worried that I haven't studied enough. I'm using the mystudygroup101 study guide and read some of the material in the books. Now that time is very tight I thought I should take the practice exam, but I can't seem to access it from myexcelsior. Did I have to purchase it when I registered for the exam? I thought I could go back to purchase it later. Also, any additional advice? I'm seriously in freakout mode right now.

You should be able to purchase it separately. I believe they have even changed it so that you don't have to buy the corresponding exam first. You can try calling the school tomorrow — don't email, you don't have enough time for that.

This program requires discipline for sure. Hopefully you can still be successful on this exam! Just try not to procrastinate going forward. Good luck!

Thank you! I'm not sure what happen to my previous reply, so forgive me if it appears twice. I definitely plan on calling Excelsior tomorrow. Maybe taking the practice exam will give me more insight. None of this material is new to me. I have seen this many times in other courses, CEU's, etc., on top of studying the material for the last few weeks. I think I'm at a point where I feel test anxiety is settling in, and making me feel overwhelmed. Maybe I just need to take a deep breathe. I will say one thing, this is the first and last time I will register for an exam before I feel prepared.

Practice exams were typically SO WORTH IT in my experience!! Probably a good thing to look at prior to testing. Best of luck!!!

Agreed with the practice exams. Between that and SG101 I feel like I was always prepared for the exams to a competent degree.

I passed with a, "C" and I didn't deserve more than that for the amount of time I studied. With that being said, if I would have studied the way I should have, there is no reason I couldn't have passed with an, "A." Everything on the exam was covered on the SG101. My biggest problem was second guessing myself and changing answers, but this wasn't a difficult exam at all. Everything was straight forward and there wasn't anything I hadn't seen in the SG101.

For anyone reading this looking for insight on how to prepare, like others have said, take the practice exam, study the material, but more importantly, give yourself time to absorb the information and truly learn it. I didn't start hardcore trying to learn the material until a few days before the exam, and that's where I went wrong. I let life get in the way, and that can't be an excuse.

With this exam the hardest part are the, "choose all that apply." There are many of those, which require you to truly be confident in your answers. Learn the material without cramming, and this exam is a peace of cake. I just wish I would have taken that advice myself. I passed, but this could have been an, "A" with a little more effort.

Glad that worked out!! :) The best advice I have heard for those select all that apply (SATA) questions is to treat each potential answer as true/false.
