Excelsior College or College Network

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

I am eager to find an LPN to RN program. I obtained information on both Excelsior College:uhoh3: and College Network. It appears that the transition maybe easier with Excelsior College but I am not sure. Does anyone know which would be a better choice. LPN for 1 year and ready to move on.

I must say I am frustrated with the amount of time it is taking me to find and respond to posts. I go to my email and click on the link and then I am lost.

So you graduated from the EC as an RN? I almost signed on with CN but something seemed fishy so I called EC. I'm going to take my boards, get a job and then begin EC. EC said it will probably take me about 18 months because there is about an 8 month wait for clinical. That's kinda long isn't it?

You do not do clinical with EC. you have a test out at the end of school called the CPNE and its a 2 1/2 day test period on you clinical skills. But they do not walk you through any of it you just show what you know and you are tested on it. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, as I am not an EC student.

That is correct! You do get guides for each test you take, including the CPNE, so you will know what you need to know.

i am not a rn yet . i am a lvn that will pay for the cpne next week and then wait for a date. how fast you complete ec depends on you. are you a motivated learner? remember what i told you when i messaged you....about 5-6 years ago before the backup with the cpne i know someone that completed the program in 4 months. that wont happen now but we can dream..lol

yes, i am a motivated learner. i am very organized too. so you have already completed the tests and you are just waiting for your clinical? if so, how hard are the exams? did you get your lvn at a community college and now you are using ec. or did you go straight to the rn online? i am trying to get all these stories straight. thanks for your patients.
