what is the average wait time to take the CPNE?

Specializes in ER.

depends on what region you apply to- I had a test date in less than a week- Applied Aug. 31, and my CPNE is Dec 7-9 in Albany. I hear you can get a date in the NPAC the quickest

Well i live in nyc

Specializes in ER.

then you should get a date rather quickly :)

I applied for the CPNE on Aug 31st, and I received my date two days ago. I will be testing in mid December in York, PA. Good Luck!

Even though I live in NY, might apply to the Southern region for the CPNE. I would like to do the workshop and then test at Grady in Ga! But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I first have to focus my studies to get there.

try southern regional. no peds. i took it there and passed on my first try.

you may want to try a workshop.

i went to one in GA.

someone is starting one in Miami wish they had it here when i needed it. i heard they gave the workshop for free to 10 people as a trial run. nice deal.

anyhow, i passed the CPNE in Sept. going to test for the boards soon.

good luck with your studies :-)

Keep in mind that it can take months to get a date with SPAC and only a few days for NPAC. That may not be a criteria for you though. I live in TN but am driving to Utica because I didn't want to wait 6 months to take the CPNE!

Just an FYI: I don't know if you're familiar with Tina Logan's workshop in PA, but it's not a far drive from NY. I took her workshop, and applied for my CPNE in December, received a date within 2 days for February, but declined because I wanted more time to study. I took the next available date in March.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Tina has closed her workshop as of this past spring.

Hey this message is for RN Luna, I'm not sure if you are still in the DMV last I read you got into the Army Nurse Corps. But I work at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda and I have a new Ensign nurse on my unit which is the equivalent to a Second Lieutenant. Anyway he was able to complete Excelsior's ADN program in six months and then he completed Chamberlain College's program in 11 months. He has been a advocate for Excelsior College in Maryland for several years. In fact they let him sit for the boards in Maryland in 2008 because of his combat military experience as a corpsman for 15 years. He is speaking to the Maryland Legislature on December 12, 2012. I think its the house of delegates and a congressman who believes in Excelsior and is sponsoring a Bill supporting Excelsior students in Maryland to sit for the boards. He has four Excelsior graduates speaking about the nursing program, they are all military. I was laughing with him today because he actually said he would rather be in combat then go through the CPNE again. I'm a civilian LPN and I enrolled in September. I've completed one exam so far. Anyways they need voices to speak up about Excelsior and I thought of you. If you are still in the DMV or anyone else who wants to be at this hearing in Maryland please email me and I will pass your email address over to the ENS I work with. Please forgive my typo errors, I'm very tired. [email protected]

I am in the Army Nurse Corps, active duty, in Georgia. Otherwise I would have loved to attend! Please respond back and let us know how it went. I know EC has been working hard to get some sort of approval for EC grads in Maryland.
