I graduated in 1988 and am thinking of going for the bsn.

Can you give me, in a nutshell, how much more work it is?

How do you get community health?

Thanks for any help

tokmom,

I graduated from Excelsior ASN program in 2010. There were a lot of "unexpected problems"(obtaining initial licensure) there :-( ( I am half way done with my BSN thru "Chamberlain"). Chamberlain online is "much" better, and "quicker" than Excelsior. So, do yourself a favor, and skip Excelsior, and go directly to "Chamberlain"! I am enjoying every moment there. If you are serious about obtaining your BSN, and willing to put the work in, then you will be successful! You can graduate in a year. However, the only tid bit that I would say, is make sure that you have College Algebra or Statistics completed before enrolling. It will save you in the long run. Otherwise, I give them a perfect score of "100"! Best wishes in your pursuit for your BSN. I hope this helps!

Thanks 4pancakes. That is too bad about Excelsior. I was hoping since I was a grad, much of what I took would easily transfer.

It sounds like Chamberlain does take Excelsior credits. A friend of mine is pushing me toward a traditional brick and morter school, but I'm not sure how Excelsior would transfer.

Yeah, I will have to get the college algebra and stats. If I was a new ADN grad I would have already had it, because the local colleges now require. Once those are out of the way I will be happy!!

How do you get your community health experience doing an online degree?

Hi, I know this is an old thread but does anyone know if Chamberlain takes Excelsior's A&P and Micro without issue?

For the RN-to-BSN? They did for me, in 2008.

Update: I went the GCU route and they took all my Excelsior credits.
