Hi ! :)
Has anyone heard of Entry level MSN program in InterAmerican College in National city ? I called the advisor and she wants me to come in the next week for the informal review of my transcripts .
I want to apply for this new program for September 2010. cohort. I think that the shcool is really small. I am not sure about the reputation or the standard of education provided .
Anyone out there who knows more about this, please please give me some feedback .
Thanks ! :)

I'm going to to IAC next week as well. When I spoke to the advisor, he said that it's a very small school, family-type setting and it's so small because no one really knows about it yet. I liked that they weren't as strict on entrance requirements and I'm hoping to be accepted to the Sept. cohort as well :) Because the school has some sort of emphasis on Latinos, you are required to take a Chicano Studies course prior to the Sept. start date, probably in July. Are you going to meet with her next week? Let me know how it goes!!

Here's a great thing about InterAmerican College: the school is offering $1,000 scholarships to new, qualified students. Make sure you ask the advisor how to take advantage of that offer. Also, the Masters of Science in Nursing just got accredited by the California Nursing Board. And the school is fully accredited by WASC, the agency that credits all major universities and colleges. InterAmerican has been operating quietly for a decade, but all that is changing with a new President onboard.

I'm going Wednesday to speak with a counselor! Does anyone have any more news?
I found out that the Entry level Masters program is not a degree progra. Its just a certificate prgm to prepare you for the RN licn.I dont think I want to do that for 16 months and then 2 years of masters. Need something like a fast track degree.
when you say certficate program, what is the certificat for? an ADN?? or a BSN? that means its not even worth it!

they segment the program:
Step 1- RN (about 16 months)
Step 2- BSN (about 20 months)
Step 3- MSN/FNP (18-24 months?)
They do this becuase some people already have bachelors degrees in other fields. If you do have a BA/BS in something else you can do the 16months get your RN license and then get into the MSN/FNP program without the BSN. HOWEVER- there are some schools that will specify needing a BSN, but what you can do is you can apply to Entry level MSN programs if you already have a BA/BS or you can do an online program to recieve a BSN (there are lots).

I need an accelerated BSN program too. I am not sure this is the right program. I was planning on the quick SDSU program but it didn't end up getting accreddited. Now looking for something like it. I just applied to CSUSM BSN but that isn't fast either. Any other suggestions in San diego?
