I am thinking about starting a business teaching CPR/First Aid to the community. Any ideas on marketing? Could this be a good money-making business? Any advice?

I have taught CPR as well as first aid to make money. If you like teaching people it's ok. I have a daycare that I teach CPR and first aid to every year and I end up making 2-3 hundred dollars for a little over 3-4 hours of work. It's a nice supplement but doesn't pay my bills. Don't become an instructor through American Red Cross because they won't let you charge for teaching their courses. Take CPR and first aid through the American Heart Association and you can charge whatever you want to teach either or both classes. Good luck!

I have started a cpr business in rhode island. I think the most important thing to do is target a certain market. I am an RN with alot of nursing home experience and contacts in that field, so I decided to market to all nuring homes and assistant living facilities. I send mailings directly to the staff development nurse with a brochure and I get about 2 or 3 calls for classes for about every 20 letters I send. I go to their facility. So, my advice is to target a certain market or niche.
