Endorsing license to CA...education requirements

Published

So I put in my application to endorse my license to Cali on 01/06/19. I believe I have all courses I need for the course requirements. My question is to anyone who has endorsed to Cali, with the written and oral comm, I was told by someone I spoke to at CA BON that an oral or public speaking and an English course should cover the oral and written comm. What was your experience when the BON reviewed your transcripts?

I just want to give an update.....I logged onto my breeze account and saw I got my RN license. I guess that answered my own question about the education requirements.

I am surprised as to how quickly it was all processed. I put in my application to endorse my license 01/06/2019. Went to California and got the live screen fingerprint done and requested transcripts from all of my schools. Checked breeze account twice this morning. License showed up on breeze account today.

I am over the moon... now I can look for jobs before we move back to Cali.

Congratulations!

Did you apply online? and if so, how did you send your transcripts? I am finding it difficult to have them emailed and schools will only mail them to a physical address. TIA! AND CONGRATS!

Yes, I applied online. I requested my transcripts online but all of my transcripts were mailed to the CA BRN from my school. It didn't take too long for the transcripts to get to BRN. I think it was less than a week from the time I put in my request for transcripts.

I suggest you call your school and ask how long it will take for them to send your transcripts.

I'm so glad you posted this, I've been searching everywhere for the educational requirements for California! Is it true that you need 6 credits of communications? I have one public speaking class, but that's it, besides an English Composition class. Do you remember what the English class you took that they accepted was called? Are there any requirements for clinical hours? Thanks so much in advance, I'm finding it so hard to find info and it's stressing me out!
