If you have not practiced nursing in the past four years you are required by TX law to complete a foreign educated nurses refresher course (FENS). They aren't cheap nor easy to find but without completion you cannot be licensed in TX.
It's not clear if there is a time limit to passing the NCLEX before retaking if never worked as a nurse. CA its 8 years.
Thank you for your response! I wasn't sure where the Nursing Practice should be at. But just to give you some more info (which might help), I graduated from my Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 2007 (Philippines), took and pass my NCLEX November 2009. From June 2007 to November 2010, I was working as Nurse in one of the tertiary hospitals in our town. (June 2007 to November 2007-Staff Nurse, Nov 2007 to November 2010-Head Nurse Hemodialysis Department).
I see...Thanks! Is there a link or website where I can check on the FENS and its fees?

California NCLEX RN to Texas BON endorsement. Is there a new policy? My exam is 6 years old. (From Philippines)
Hi everyone! I am Nurse in the Philippines and I have taken my California NCLEX-RN exam last Nov. 2010. I'm still in the Philippines but will arrive USA in April 2016. I would like to use my California NCLEX to Texas instead as I'll be living on that state.
I already emailed Texas BON and I'm not sure I understood what they told me. I think they have a new rule in terms of the age of your NCLEX exam (4 years) or else you'll have to go through some refresher course. Any clarification?
