Endorsement from Hawaii to NC

Published

Hello,

I am currently waiting for HIBON to post my license number on the website so that I can start the endorsement application process. Hawaii is non-compact state. I have been researching for a few days, but still confused about the process and how long it should take? My start date is in April and do not want to delay that if possible.

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

So you are saying you are getting your first ever nursing license from Hawaii and endorsing it without working as a nurse first? And start date for what? A job?

HI license usually takes 4-6 weeks to post and to be mailed out to your home address. Yeah HI takes forever to process.

When you apply for your NC license, you can apply for a temporary license good for 6 months.

The NC BON requires that you submit to a criminal background investigation by the SBI. They typically mail the fingerprint card after receipt of an application. If you call or email them, they might send you fingerprint card prior to receipt of your application.

Thank you for sharing!

I just got my HI license number and applied for endorsement. I guess visiting HIBON office worked for me. But I decided to move my start date to a few weeks later :(

I found out that it takes about 2 weeks for temporary license at least, is that reliable?

Thanks!
