Hi there,
I'm aiming to do a Diploma of Nursing in Christchurch next year, and I was wondering what the process is for further study to a Bachelor in Nursing in New Zealand. As I currently live in Australia, and attend an Australian school, I've been drilled in everything to know about the Australian education system, and I know a few universities in Australia do have this course, but I was wondering if there is an actual EN to RN course in in New Zealand, is there a Bachelor of Nursing that will recognise my prior learning from my EN diploma, or will I have to attend university in Australia. As I will not receive a University Entrance, I cannot go straight into a Bachelor of Nursing anyway, and hence why I'm doing the Diploma first.
Sorry this is a little complex.
Thank you :)

It would probably be best to ask the place in NZ that you intend to study at. They would know for sure and have all the details.

My wife has just completed her RN education in NZ after cross-crediting some of her courses from Australia. In NZ, there aren't that many EN courses, mainly RN at the polytechnics and universities. It's easier to find work as an RN, unless you want to work in rest homes as an EN. It also depends where you want to live, as each polytechnic has their own set of unique rules that often don't correlate with the others! I'm happy to answer any questions you might have!
