Emory ABSN/MSN Summer 2011

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to get a thread going for all of us who are planning on attending Emory this summer. May is coming up quick and I'd love to get some conversations flowing about our class.

Im coming from Denver, but I'm from Atlanta originally, so I'm really familiar with the area. Where is everyone else coming from??

I'm signed up to do the FNP tract, and I'm really excited!!

Hello! I was also accepted to the absn/msn program beginning this summer (the FNP program as well!). *I went to the accepted students day last Thursday and was blown away by how beautiful the school is as well as how wonderful the current/prospective students are. *Did you make the trek down there from CO?

Also, I am from Maine and do not know the area at all! I was, however, very impressed with Atlanta :)

Hi Everyone!

I was also accepted to the ABSN/MSN starting this summer for the Family Nurse-Midwife specialty...I'm REALLY excited!

I'm from Chicago and won't be moving down to Atlanta until closer to the start of school. I've never been to Atlanta before so any advice on good neighborhoods to live in (or bad neighborhoods to live in!), moving to the area, etc would be MUCH appreciated!

Also, I wasn't able to make it to the student day last Thursday - would any one be willing to share some of what they presented about the program, getting ready for the program or anything else?

did everyone really like it? i was accepted, but the summer start date threw me more a loop. i didn't realize it was THAT early... so I don't think I'm going to be going. but i'd love to hear what people thought of the school.

I didn't make the trek down there for the accepted students day. I went to an info session back in October though and loved the program.

I'm going to be moving down there at the beginning of May, and my family has a house in Tucker, GA that's empty, so I'll be living there. It's a really nice, big house in a quiet residential neighborhood--15 min drive from campus. If anyone is interested in cheap rent, let me know! I can have a roommate (or 2)

I will be moving down from Maine in May. Pebblesatl, your house sounds great! Unfortunately, I will not have a car during the summer, so I would like to live within walking distance from the campus. Is there anyone else who would be interested in this type of living situation?

Hello,

I managed the facebook group for the ABSN 2010 group. I know you talked to some of my classmates at the admitted students day. We had the idea of a program group so all the classes can have a common website and also have a separate one for each of the classes. I went ahead and created a facebook group for the program called "Emory ABSN/MSN Program". Please feel free to join and ask questions. Congratulations on your acceptance to the program and we look forward to seeing you this summer!! :)

Anyone here apply for the FNM program (dual cert for CNM/FNP)? What are your thoughts on the program?
