Emergency Room Hunt!

Published

Basically, I want to work somewhere awesome. I love my job and my patients but I am looking to branch out from the small rural facility and rural Wisconsin lifestyle I have found myself in. I mean, we don't even have a Starbucks ;)

I was a new nurse but now have earned my chops and need a nursing adventure. I have dreams of finding opportunities like opening up a new ED at a new urban hospital somewhere, something intriguing like that. And I'm willing to move anywhere to do it!

Does anyone know where I can find a list of the nation's newest/in-construction Emergency Departments? Or ideas of the most highly-regarded Emergency Departments?

Or have any ideas in general you think would be exciting for a young Trauma Queen? lol

Thanks!

Delay beach just opened in January. It's in south florida

It's actually called Bethsada west. Good luck. We got all kinds of interesting folks in the south

Great trauma center/ED? Look no further than Duke in Durham, NC or WakeMed in Raleigh, NC. Of course, there's always the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Specializes in Emergency & Trauma/Adult ICU.

Keep in mind that a shiny new physical plant does not always translate into progressive medicine. Good luck in your search.

As soon as I fulfill my contract I'm head to Duke or UNCCH! Cannot wait!

Check out WakeMed in Raleigh. I've always heard nothing but wonderful things about their ED. I took my emt course on campus back in 1990 but out of that area since 1993. And R Adams won't want you in trauma without ICU background.
