Hello everyone! I was recently offered a position (residency) in the ER as a new graduate. I don't start until early March, but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on Emergency Nursing books/etc. that they believe would be helpful for a new nurse prior to starting. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! :-)

Sheehy's Manual of Emergency Care is a great resource, another one I like is Critical Nursing Made Easy. Also, I had a little spiral book "Emergency Facts" that kept my sanity ( a quick overview of rhythms, lab values, VSS parameters for kids of different age groups), it cost only about $4 I do not recommend "150 tips for new grad nurses", didn't really enjoy reading it, seemed all too vague.
Perfect! Thank you so much :-)

Yes, read that. We use it as part of our orientation.

I used Fast Facts for the ER Nurse by Jennifer Buettner and the CEN study materials from the ENA!
Got the same book!
