For the ER nurses on the forum, how did you go about getting CEN? Are there different organization that offer it? When I took my ACLS, I made sure it was AHA endorsed because some hospitals won't recognize it if it's not AHA endorsed. Is that how it is with CEN? Anyone best place to get it?
CEN is only offered through the BCEN, you can go to their website for more information. You take the actual exam at a Pearson Vue testing center which you can schedule after you pay for the exam. It's been awhile but I think you have to schedule within a certain time frame after you've paid, maybe 90 days? Good luck!
The CEN is a board certification (very different than a two-day certification class like ACLS), so it is only offered through the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing. You can visit them at bcencertifications.org.
Thank you, very helpful info.....
