hi folks

i emailed the embassy regarding my case last week as all is silent at the moment, you know how it goes, one minute you've got loads to do, the next you are twiddling you thumbs and wondering if theyve remembered you exist?? anyway this it what it said:

We can confirm that the immigrant visa branch recieved your visa application from the National Visa Centre. A visa number will berequested for you this month, which barring unforseen circumstances will become available for your use in the month of October. You will be informed in Setember of the date and time of the appointment.

Thankyou for your email

hurrah

i can see the finishing post in the distance, or is it the postman carrying my packet 4?? lol

by the way it took 7 working days for them to reply, not that i care as at least i got some positive information

i need to lie down

That is great news, you have a time line and will be here for Halloween Maybe? When do you plan to come out? The weather will be lovely then. Bring a few warm clothes as it gets very cool in the evening after Nov. Dont be like us who got rid of all our warm clothes and had to go out and buy sweat shirts lol

As you passed in may and it is only the begining of August i wouldnt get too worried! the next phase of your immigration is the i140 or phase one approval.

i passed the NCLEX in june last year and my i140 was filed by OGP in August,

you will find that you have periods where you dont hear much as we are all at the mercy of immigration who you can sometimes feel have forgotton all about you! the immigration part of the process can be a long, frustrating experiance which you may find if you read some of the threads on here, everyones time frames are different, some of us got held up in a backlog while waiting for the I140 which ended up taking lots longer than it should.

I wpuld email them once a week to remind them you are there and keep on top of things, that would be my advice.

that information really helps thanks. its just my brother is getting married next sept and im a bridesmaid and im just wondering will i be away by then or could i hold of to go until then. what do you think??

if i have to go before thats no problem however it would be handier for the wedding to take place first eh!!! thered be nothing worse than trying to get settled after leaving everyone and then going home to the wedding thatd just set me back i think.

its hard to say some on here have been in the usa 10 months after NCLEX some like myself and a few others are only just starting to see light at the end of the tunnel 18 months after, an unlucky few are still waiting for I140

its difficult to generalise, but i would think that 12 months after I140 is reasonable, but if you are still waiting for that stage it may be a while, mine took 7 months to arrive others took at longer, some only took 14 days

its abit like asking how long is a piece of string really lol
