Eligible to take NCLEX without official transcipt

Published

So Ive been reading some of the post on here and some say that their results are on hold because of "pending transcripts" I thought that in order to take the boards you needed to have the transcipts in and reviewed by the board prior to them making you eligible to test. Can anyone shed some light?

Some states will let you test before they receive your transcripts as long as your school has notified them you will graduate. They will not release any results until file is complete and that means transcripts are recieved and reviewed

Here in Vegas our school sends an affidavit stating that we passed and can test. After those are sent we get our ATT. If we pass NCLEX our GN license converts to a temporary license. About 4 days later we get a thing in the mail saying we passed NCLEX and they need our official transcripts. We all sent in for our transcripts, but have to wait till our degree is posted before it can be sent. They said sometime this coming week.

Oh ok. Im in California and I received an ATT already, but my school is NOTORIOUS for being major laggers. So, i just wanted some reassurance when I test that nothing is gonna hold back my results, but I guess I just have to hope my school already sent my transcripts to the board of Ca. Thanks for your replies.

In California, you can sit for your boards without your official transcript as long as your school sends a roster indicating you graduated (or will graduate). This is why on AllNurses.Com you will frequently read about CA students going weeks without their NCLEX-RN results only to find that their transcripts were never received. (Whether it was the BRN's fault or school's fault is questionable.)

I actually know what school you go to [from the people in your avatar; ADN program]. Call the Board first, ask if your file is complete. Literally, "Is my file/packet complete?" If they say yes, you will not run into any rough edges. If "yes," find out what. Sometimes the transcripts are misplaced at their facility; sometimes your school just sent it without the BRN transcript request form. Etc., etc.
