Hi there! I have been an RN in MICU for one year full time and would like to take the CCRN exam. Am I eligible to test if I haven't been in critical care for a full two years? My guess is yes, as long as you have the 1750 hours (which I do.) The aacn website wording is making me second-guess myself- I just want to verify that I don't need to have the required hours AND 2 years of experience. Thanks in advance!

You're fine.  The requirement is 1750 practice hours during the 2 years prior to submitting your application, with 875 hours in the year immediately prior to application.

Also, the AACN no longer requires hours in critical care.  The requirement is now “…1,750 hours in direct care of acutely/critically ill adult patients…”
