Elder Care attitudes of educators and students

Published

I am an EdD student and a nurse. I am interested in whether anyone has information or opinions related to whether the attitudes of the nurse educator (positive or negative) affect the attitudes of the nursing student related to care of our elderly.

Do you know that online internet forums are not valid resources for research papers and assignments? Please use a search engine such as Google Scholar, Medscape, Cochrane, or ebscohost to find reliable sources for your homework.

There is a misunderstanding here. This is not a homework paper. The assignment itself is to participate in blogs about topics that are relevant to ourselves. The grading is based on our paricipation in blogs, our post topics and type of comments received. So if you only wish to discuss homework and not the topic itself then so be it that is what I will report on my log.

Tell us your opinion. Start the conversation. What do you think about the attitudes of the nurse educator (positive or negative) affecting the attitudes of the nursing student related to care of our elderly. What has your experience been? How doyou think the attitudes of the nurse educator (positive or negative) affecting the attitudes of the nursing student related to care of our elderly

I feel that nurse educators attitudes have an impact on the attitudes of the nursing student. If the instructor presents instruction related to care of our elderly in an enthusiastic and compassionate manner, then the student may be inspired to also become interested in elder care. On the other hand, if the instructor presents material as just another topic the student may also consider it just as one of those areas required to get through school. However, a supportive and enthusiastic instructor may serve to inspire students to pursue a career in areas like long-term care, home care, palliative, or hospice care. These are all areas in need of caring and compassionate nurses.

Ho, hum, that sounds about right to me.Sorry, it's been a long day. OP, I hope you are figuring out more about how to start a conversation with strangers, which, I expect, is part of the assignment even if unstated. You will find us an opinionated and generally well-informed bunch if you can get us going.
