Katie-

In our packet there was a flyer that informed us to go up to the school a week before school starts (next week, like you said) to see about the IV seminar. Is that what you're talking about?

It stinks because almost all of my friends are in a different lecture :( Without them in my clinical either- I will never see them!!!! :(

Hi,

I'm glad you third semester guys finally found out what your clinicals are.

Kathy, concernig your post towards labs, I believe it is not posted with the course numbers but under instructer names (on the big white board in front of the labs). I can't remember for sure, and the weird thing is on my schedule on e-connenct I don't even have a instructor listed yet for my lab. Hmmm, maybe Kanora knows..............

I finally got access to the ECC SNA site. I have been waiting for the info for a while now! I just wanted to let you guys know so you could check it. I am trying to spruce it up and add important documents. Check it often because it will now be updated!!!!!

What is given out to us during the pharm review?

Are the THR packets useful?

Didn't y'all say that the THR pharm packets and the drug cards that were sent to me were good for the pharm test?

Also....what is 'the tree' that someone is mentioning to me????

The below quote is from Nolan...I think a member on here. Could y'all clarify what the heck it means?????

You need to study what SNA gives you which is one packet, you will know it when you see the "tree". The other packet is one that will get handed down from upper classmen. The drug cards should be looked over but is not really what you need to study for the pharm test, just be familiar with the info on them.

Yes, the paper says to go one week before classes start. But does it mean next Tuesday or Wednesday? We have lecture on Wednesday. And what time does it start? Ok, I know that nobody knows the answer here. I guess they will send an email the day before IV seminar starts.:uhoh21:

Do you have the two lectures on different days? You can make new friends in your clinical group and lecture group. You will meet new people from the bridge program, won't you? I am sure you can make many new friends and keep in touch with the old ones. :)

They give you another pharm review packet on the pharm review class. That has a pharm tree drawing (as I remember). I liked the review class but the packet didn't help me much. I already knew that stuff.

I like the THR packets but those have somewhat different drugs what you need for each semester. For example, you need cardio drugs from 3rd semester only.

I think the drug cards are very helpful. I reviewed most of the drugs from them.

But this is only my opinion. I am sure others have different one. ;)

OK...thanks. I understand now. :)

I don't have an instructor listed either. They told us it would be posted with the schedule outside the lab...maybe they don't know either??? I just want to know where and when to go Tuesday, and the rest I can figure out later...lol.

I don't know if the actual seminar is next week. I think we're just supposed to go find out the info for when the seminar will be. If we go one week before school starts then I would go a week before whatever day your lecture is on.

I am excited about meeting bridge program students! Maybe it will be good to be exposed to more learning styles and new faces to stare at when class gets boring hahaha. Our lectures are on 2 different days (Wednesdays and Thursdays) with two different instructors. Mine is on Thursday. I have almost the same schedule as last semester- Tues, Wed, and Thursday. I like having Friday-Monday for studying and catching up on life.

So 1st semester you have 2 clinical days, and in other semesters, you have 1 clinical day? I'm just trying to plan here..lol. How long is skills lab usually (# of hours)? My daughter is not pleased with my schedule so far.

It varies from group to group. There aren't a set number of days in each semester. It all depends on how long the hospital will allow us to be there and how the instructor teaches the clinical. I've always had 1 day clinicals until this semester. Now I have 2 8 hr clinicals so hopefully they won't go as long into the semester. My 1st semester I was up at that school almost everyday. 2nd semester it was a little less and then in 3rd we're only up there once a week for lecture. Skills labs are different weekly also- at least they were for me. My teacher was going through a hard time in life and our skills and clinicals were a little off from everyone else's. Skills labs were definitely longer in 1st semester. I think the shortest ones were about 3 hours and the longest ones were 8 but then again, we were on a different schedule. Maybe there's someone here who had a normal schedule that could better answer this question. I wish I could answer it better for you.
