I'm looking to talk to RNs at El Camino Hospital in Mtn View, CA. If you are working with adults (not peds) at El Camino, I'd love to hear about your experiences, what you like, dislike, things you wish you knew, etc. If you recently went through the new grad training program in the last 3 years, that would be a plus. Thanks.

I have worked at El Camino for over 15 years. I was a new grad when I started. It is a very nice hospital to work for. The standards are quite high. They pretty much already were staffing by the California ratios long before the ratios were implemented. It can still be tough work but when traveling nurses tell you how great it is at ECH compare to other hospitals it kind of puts things in perspective.
I don't know specifics about the current new grad program only that they want the new grad to feel supported and have ongoing workshops the first 6 mos or so of training. I know my manager if more than willing to extend preceptorships if the new nurse needs more time.
