I went to Everest institute for medical assistant but never completed my extern. I mentioned this before.
While in the program we learned ekg and tested. I received a certificate upon passing the ekg test that states the following below:
"Corinthian colleges inc.
recognition award
ecg techniques
Space labs burdic, inc
award this certificate to
[my name]
for successful completion of a prescribed program of instruction and participation for electrocardiograph technicians. This program included physiology, instrumentation, techniques, artifacts, safety procedures and acquisition of diagnostically correct electrocardiograms. Therefore, this certificate of meritorious recognition is present xx day of xx, xxxx
signed by instructor and academic dean and stamped by the school."
i am now am now finishing up my cna training, is it possible to just take up phlebotomy to become a PCT once I'm a certified NA? Or this doesn't count as a certification for EKG?
(i am NYC, but when I did my ma training I was in NJ)

Your certificate from your college is a Certificate of Completion. What you need is a national certification, like that offered through the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians.
They offer both EKG and phlebotomy certifications (through exams). And those should qualify you for work as at PCT.

oh ok yes I figured that. So with my certificate can I qualify to take the state exam? Or would I still need to complete a course or amt of hours?
Check out this link. It explains the process.
