So I just read someone's comment on another website indicating that NPs will be required, by the year 2011, to have doctorate degrees (Ph.Ds) to practice. I assume that this may be true, but it is likely a state by state thing. Does anyone know anything about this, or where I could get more information? Thanks in advance!

It's a DNP by 2015. Here's what the American Association of Colleges of Nursing have to say about it:
http://www.aacn.nche.edu/DNP/DNPFAQ.htm.
So, will current NPs be "grandfathered in," or will they be required to obtain the additional licensure/education?
Again, thanks for the info.! Certainly helps in trying to make education/career plans! :)
