Ed. D is it worth it

I live 5 min away from Rowan University in NJ and have the opportunity to enroll in their Ed. D in nursing education. I'm worried though it will not be readily accepted at the faculty Should I do the PHD?

Would love to hear from those who chose the Ed. D

meanmaryjean, DNP, RN

Specializes in NICU, ICU, PICU, Academia. Has 44 years experience.

At my university, the doctorally prepared nursing faculty is pretty evenly split DNP/ PhD/ EdD. If it has a nursing focus, I would think that would actually trump both of the other degrees for a faculty role, since DNP and PhD traditionally don't have that overarching education content.
