Hi all! I just finished (thank God) Transitions. My next one is Health Safety and I was wondering if anyone had any comments suggestions or complaints about it. The transitions was SO much info and was SO boring! I guess I am hoping for something easier to apply to. I really did not enjoy the transitions but at least I am done with it! So anyone have any info on health safety through the EC?? TIA!!

I took health & safety last week(Jan 21st)...I studied about a month, and got an "A" :) -

If your already lpn, it will basically be a review. Most questions are just common sense questions imo. I'm studing "transitions" right now. It has lots of info! Was it really hard?

I'm studying transitions now, it's so much info. I have taken both practice tests and got 60's and high 50's!!:crying2: There are so many people to memorize and laws. My test is at the end of this month I'm hoping to pass. I have been reading every day, I also have SG 101. About Health Safety--I have TCN guide for that class and it is basicly review. I will be thrilled when transitions is behind me. I was told by my EC advisor to take that exam first.:uhoh3:

For me, it was frustrating. I bought the textbooks recommended and studied with flashcards and the studygroup101-which followed the book very closely imo. There was sooo much info to remember-theorists, theories, papers, organizations, etc- then on the test there was maybe 30 out of 130 questions on all those items. You really do have to just remember/memorize all the info and take it. The practice exams helped me somewhat but I thought it mostly help me remember the type of questions. I personally use lots of pneumonics I make up to memorize things. And even with all that I did study there were a few things on the test that I never even remember seeing or studying! Ugh! lol I got a c on this one but I am so okay with that!!

I have been a LPN for 3 years and went to a really excellent nursing school. Hopefully it wont be so bad- health safety I mean.

I have no idea why they recommend transitions first. On my practice exams for transitions I made one in the 70s and one in the 60s- took the test made a D- studied even more to make better and came out with a C. Iam just so happy that one is over!!

So I took the EC practice exam form a and made a 64--- I did make some silly mistakes, but I suppose it is on to study time for the real exam!!

Any one have any pointers or advice on this exam??? TIA

Nobody enjoys the transitions test. All of the other tests get into the meat, potatoes, gravy, and vegetables of nursing, so they will gain and hold your interest. The CPNE is, of course, dessert.
