Does anyone know if it's easy to get a RPN job as a new grad. Thinks.

Have you heard of the New Grad Initiative program. There is a portal website I believe it is called Healthforces.ca in which you can enter your information and look up where they have positions in Ontario.
I know at our hospital, they have hired New Grad's from this portal site. I don't know anything more than that though.
We have one in ICU and she was given 6 months full time orientation and then she /he is eligible to apply for any positions in the hospital.
If you goggle you may find more info. than I know.
I should have mentioned that the NGI is for both RPN an RN's.

I know a handful of nurses that have been employed under the new grad initiative. It does give them 6 months of employment but when the 6 months is over they have all been out of work. Some have applied to openings where they were working but with very little seniority they don't get hired. All the hospitals in my area have been undergoing massive layoffs so there are very little jobs available.
Thank you. does anybody know Great Toronto area, Windsor, or around Niagra Falls area.

Yes, there is no guarantee that you will be hired after but if you need the money, then it's a good opportunity. Also, at least you have "paid" experience under your belt.
Anyway, I heard Comcare (Visiting RN/PN) is hiring. Check out their site. If you do not mind working in LTC I suggest you visit the ones you are interested in working and handing out your resume to them personally because most of them do not have websites. They can also put a face to your resume. Good luck!
