I figured to help out some people, I would start a thread that I would have loved to see a few months ago LOL
Anyone out there know nursing schools that are easy (or easier) to get into?
My college is:
D'Youville College, Buffalo, NY NO WAIT LIST....If you have taken ACT OR SAT AUTOMATIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 24 ON ACT AND 1100 ON SAT THAT EQUALS TO 50% TUITION 25% OFF ROOM AND BOARD. There are others check out their website http://www.dyc.edu they also offer 5 year masters degrees. Its a decently small college close to downtown buffalo. Easiest college Ive ever encountered and the people will help you in every way possible, and will go out of their call of duty to help with any questions you have.

Thank you so much for the info! That was really kind on you to not only share with us but to get the thread started. I will def check out your school.
I went on the school's nursing website but did not see anything about admission requirements, etc. Any advive of where I can get such info or can you tell me anything you know. Also, are they still accepting applications for fall 2009? Thanks again!
For just the BSN program, you need a SAT of at least 900 (math and verbal only) or 19 on the ACT, 80 percent high school average, Upper half of class. BUT you can be admitted on a discretionary basis. If you are a transfer you need a 2.5 gpa. If you don't meet that criteria, I am pretty sure they will still accept you into the school and you should be able to change majors after your first year. They are really helpful so you should give them a call. I would call about accepting applications for the fall, I am not quite sure about that, I would call Monday to see, especially if you meet or are above those limits because they might be able to fast track you application.

That is awesome information. I wish I was in a position to just move there to attend.

Thank you, I will give them a call on Monday. I actually have my B.S Degree, but I don't think they have a second degree option so I'm interested in the regular BSN. I guess I will have to start as a transfer student because I have all my pre-reqs and more done. Thanks again!

If you live in Southern California and are looking for a school to attend for LVN, I recommend going to Summit Career College in Colton or Anaheim and request information. I took an entrance exam for their school, passed it, and did not have to take the HESI. For some reason, Summit doesn't require you to take the HESI before the DON decides if you get into the program or not and I first found that suspicious and was questioning whether or not the school was even accredited because most schools require you to take their entrance exam and the HESI, NET, TEAS,etc. But I found out the school is accredited and I have to take an exit HESI at the end of every term, lol. Also, I was supposed to have my interview with the DON, but she was nowhere to be found and one of the LVN instructors ended up doing my interview and I was accepted into the LVN program on the spot. :nuke: You do not have to wait for an acceptance letter in the mail. So good luck to all future nursing students looking for easy schools to get into.

I'm pretty sure that they don't have the second degree program. The bad thing about transfer, is that we start nursing classes our first year, so im not sure how they will do that. If you apply for that college, I reccomend OFF CAMPOUS HOUSING, its 9,300 a year for dorms. and you have to go home for thanksgiving, christmas (for a month) and spring break (my only beef with this college). But I have looks at like craigslist for housing/ apartments and there really are some nice places pretty close to the college. I couldn't do it this year because I live in SC and driving up there isn't really economical at this point.

If you do not meet the requirements, still apply, chances are you will still be put in to nursing. ( it doesn't cost anything to apply online )
Thank you Chrisciwi...
