Ok I am enrolled right now for my pre reqs with TCC In VA I am getting out of the navy and I'm moving to NC and I wanted to know if ECU is a good school to go for nursing.. I have heard wonderful things about it but only from my boyfriend who wants me to move there instead of back to Boston... I would like to hear from people who have attended that school or who are attending that school!! Thank you!

I live about an hour southeast of Greenville and am quite familiar with East Carolina University. I haven't attended ECU yet (I went to UNC-Greensboro for my B.A.) but plan on getting my BSN from ECU. The Nursing school is good, but it's not the best in the state. Its nursing building is new and innovative, so much better than UNCG's which is one of the most competitive nursing schools in the state. The instructors are pretty good from what I hear too. ECU's nursing school isn't as competitive as the *better* nursing schools (UNC, UNCG, Duke). A good point though, PCMH is a teaching hospital and the best hospital on the east coast and you certainly wouldn't do yourself harm to get your clinical experience there. They do contract with the surrounding hospitals though in Ahoskie and Craven Regional Hospital which are quite a drive from Greenville.

I also want to be a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and the NNP program is great!!! The NICU at PCMH is excellent as well.
