Duke New Grad Nurse Residency Spring 2019

Published

Hello,

I wanted to start a thread for those who are interested in Duke's New Grad Residency program for Spring 2019 ( Feb/March 2019 start dates). I wanted to connect with others who have applied or are planning to apply.

Has anyone interviewed or been in contact with Duke?

Where are you applying to?

Specializes in Cardiothoracic and Transplant ICU.

I applied to two positions back on August 29th. I was contacted by the recruiter and was told my information will be sent to the hiring managers, but I have not heard anything since.

Hi there!!

I actually had applied to the ED new grad position at the beginning of September and got called in for the shadowing and interview portion now in Mid-October. Hopefully this means that we will be finding out soon about if we get accepted to the position.

What area are you applying to? I would love to connect with a fellow new grad and create a great support system since I will be moving there from out of state.

Does anyone have info about the OR program? I haven't seen it posted yet, unless I've overlooked it.

I was contacted by two different peds units for interviews! Recruitment told me interviews usually take until the end of October for most of the units at DUH

That's awesome! What two units did you hear from? Did they aet up an interview for you?

It looks like the New to the OR program was just posted in the past day or two!

Hey everyone! I just received an interview today for the CTICU! I'm out of state as well :) Glad I found this page.

Hi all! I went to the open house and received job interviews for adult general medicine step-down and adult general medicine this month! Actually my first interview is 2 days from now so I was just scanning this site for interview questions.

Hey everyone, I accepted an offer for the CTICU! Where is everyone applying to?

Hi!! I have actually accepted a position in the ED at DUH. I have a start date of February 18th! Anyone else??? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for places to live? I am moving from Miami, FL and don't know the area very well. Thanks!

Hey MIAnurse! Congrats on your new position! I'm waiting for some pediatric positions to open up for me to apply, I am also from the Miami area! I really hope I can land a position also! Do you have any tips for the application process or how to really stand out?
