Duke BSN to DNP Info.

Hello!

I am looking for advice and information regarding Duke's MSN/DNP program. I graduated with my BSN in 2014 and have been working in the NICU. I am looking into Duke's program and really want to go there!!

I am planning on applying for next fall. I want to work as a primary care provider in underserved communities, that is my goal. I have come across posts that say Duke only accepts the students that they know will succeed. However, I have also come across different posts where students were accepted even though they didn't have the best grades and GRE scores.

The reason I am bringing this up is because I did not graduate with an outstanding GPA, but I did work extremely hard my last 2 years of nursing to bring up my GPA, which I did and is reflected on my transcripts.

I want to do PNP-PC, but am also considering FNP. I guess my question is does anybody know if one has a greater chance of getting into one program rather than the other?

Any advice is appreciated :)

I don't know, I am in the Informatics program and the demand is not as great. I have a Masters in another field so that helped me tremendously as I had a 4.0. My overall undergraduate was around 3.6-3.7 ish (BS, BSN, ADN combined) It wasn't stellar, but I think they look at more than just GPA. You can call and ask which programs are more popular. They offer so many different ones. The peds and cardiac specialties are pretty popular I know that. I can try and poke around....
