I'm getting ready to start tpapn and my family lives out of state.
Does anyone one know if I test out of state will tpapn be informed.
Do they receive the location of the test?
sometimes my family needs health care assistance of a trained professional and I travel in to help over see.
Thanks

I am not sure on your exact program, but on mine, I had a list of accepted facilities to test at, and if I went out of state, I had to let the testing overseer know when, where and how long I would be gone and I still had to call in each day to see if I needed to test.

I've gone out of state multiple times over the past 5 years and informed TPAPN every time. I never got picked when out of state. I would guess quest is not just in Texas.

You have to let them know when you're going out of town. In theory, they used to tell you that you have to be prepared to test wherever you were, and you were supposed to contact recovery trek (now Affinity) to work out which lab you would use,if you were selected while you were traveling, but in 3 years I never had to test while out of town. Now they have a "monitoring interruption" policy where you go into Affinity and request your trip and your monitoring is suspended during that time. You have to tell them when and where you will be out of town. There's both an interruption where you still have to check in every day, but you won't have to test, as well as an interruption where you don't even have to check in. That one's rare (not having to check in), I'm sure. I was given that one when I was going to Puerto Rico to help with the hurricanes and was unsure what type of cell signal, if any, there would be. (I didn't end up going, btw).
They will select you to test as soon as you get home though. I was pleasantly surprised that for me, the test I had to do when I returned home was not immediately the day after I got back, usually they gave me 2 or 3 days.
You are still required to get your AA meetings in, so you either need to find a mtg to attend while out of town, (or at least claim that you did), or get all 4 of your weekly meetings in prior to the trip.
Ok I'll start going to AA meetings

I think your answer will be state specific. In California Travel outside the state is not allowed without approval from you case worker. Usually if it's for a severe family illness they will allow you to go. Then you go online and find a meeting near where you will be so if you get a call you can get your test.

Whenever I went to see my sister in Texas (I live in Wisconsin), I had to arrange for testing while there. First thing I did the first time there was to make a road trip to the test location (an hour drive in Austin!) so I knew where to go. I've never been tested during the four times I've visited my sister.

in IPN (FL) we are required to complete a monitoring interruption request at least 1 week before traveling outside the state. We are asked to check in if we are in the US but I have never been asked to test.
