Does working as PSW as student help you land a job later as an RN?

It seems as though many of my classmates are landing jobs as a personal support worker (PSW) but I unfortunately don't have the time to work while in school because of other priorities. I'm wondering if this actually gives them an advantage in the future when potential employers review their résumé.

I have heard of several people who got in the door in a hospital by working as a PCT/CNA through nursing school and usually were the ones who were hired for nurse residency and as nurses once they passed the NCLEX. I think it would depend on your market and how hard jobs are to come by in your area.

don't worry about it. Your goal now is to pass school and get a license. MOST students do not have this type job while in school so you are in the majority.
