Does Nemours hire new nursing grads internally?

Published

I am a nursing student and I got hired to work at Nemours in the lab. I was wondering if anyone knows if they would hire a new graduate nurse internally? People have told me that the only hire experienced nurses.

This is probably something you could get answered by calling the HR department and speaking to one of the nurse recruiters.

I called and asked and couldn't really get a straight answer. They said they have a culture of promoting within, but I wanted to know if anyone here has seen it or experienced it.

It might be helpful to specify which Nemours you are referring to, and perhaps search or post in that state's forum as well. Nome's has a few locations throughout the country.

It is the Nemours located in Orlando. I am new to allnurses and didn't realize that there was a Florida forum. Thank you for responding :)

I think they are looking for related experience. My friend got hired out of nursing school to work in Allergy but she had worked in an allergy clinic all through and before nursing school. Doesn't hurt to apply. The worst they can do is say no.
