Hi,

Within the next year as I finish up my nurse schooling/nclex/etc I plan to land a job as a nurse at the Boston children's hospital? Does anybody know their policy's regarding tattoos? All tattoos I have currently would be easily hidden under scrubs, but before I get more, I want to make sure they wouldn't cost me a chance at working there?

anything is helpful thank you!!!!!

I'm not sure about Boston but the hospitals I have been to require all tattoos to be covered at all times. I would think that a prestigious hospital like Children's would require the same.

Would hospitals with this policy allow wearing long sleeved tees under scrubs?

Emergent, RN

Specializes in ER. Has 28 years experience.

I suggest calling them and asking.

applesxoranges, BSN, RN

Specializes in ER.

I'd assume so I would cover it every chance you get till you find out about HR. Also, keep an open mind and apply to a variety of jobs. I heard Boston is brutal for the job market.

I think so...

The only place I know of that you can't wear longed sleeved tees under scrubs is OR. I haven't been a lot of places though...
