I applied FSU nursing program for fall term 2011, but I have no idea how it is going to be like. I was reading some of posts that said the clinical sites were like jacksonville and orlando. How many hours for community service? Does anyone give me advice? I currently live in Jacksonville, but I just got denial letter from UNF and FSU is my second option.

Hi, I also just applied to FSU Fall 2011, and got my rejection letter from UNF summer term. I heard that we will find out end of March, early April. What were your gpa's?

Did you get an interview in unf tho?? My prereqs/ science GPA is 4.0 and total GPA is like 3.77. I wonder why it's so hard to get info about fsu nursing program in here. Where do you live??

Hi, I'm also waiting for FSU's decision for Fall 2011! I've already been denied by another school so I'm really nervous!
I have a question if anybody knows the answer: Next to my Major on my admission status, "Nursing, NFA" appears. Apparently NFA means "Not Formally Accepted". But what does that mean?
Thanks in advance!
It doesn't say anything to my status. I am going to call FSU nursing tomorrow because I need to make decision by 4/6 other schools, and I need to find out that when we will know by. I don't think "Not Formally Accepted" doesn't mean anything. Be patient and let's wait..
I called FSU CON and advisor said that we should get a mail by this week. Let me know how it goes everyone!
Didn't get in

Hi! I also applied to FSU and got my rejection letter in the mail yesterday. I got into the other schools that I applied to so FSU would have been a no-go anyway, but it still kinda sucks to not even be waitlisted. I have never been flat-out denied before. Oh well. Good luck to all who were (or are) actually going to go to FSU! :)
You got the mail late. Oh well, I was shocked I didn't get in with 4.0 prereqs and science GPA. FSU students get priotity to get into the nursing school, but they wouldn't tell exactly what other criteria.. That sucks that we don't know where we are standing at. So, where did you decide to go? I think I am going to USF accelerated program in summer term. Good luck to you all!!
Hi! I live in Germany (I am military), hence the delayed mail. I can't believe with a 4.0 you weren't accepted. I only had a 3.74 and am still surprised that I wasn't even waitlisted (I had less than that last year and was). I applied to UCF (got in), Univ of Missouri, St. Louis (got in), and University of Maryland, Baltimore (got in and am going there). Since I am military and am applying via a program where they will send me to any accredited school that I get into, I pretty much can apply anywhere, hence the random spread of states and schools. Kinda makes me a little irritated that someone with a lower GPA can get in simply because they already go to FSU, but oh well. My experience has been that the schools that don't require a lot of work to apply to (e.g. letters of recommendation, the TEAS/HESI, essays, etc.) are harder to get into. It is almost like the more work you have to do to get in, the more of a chance you have of getting in. I didn't take the TEAS last year and only applied to schools that required a simple application (that only looked at transcripts and no other supplemental criteria), and was waitlisted then denied admission to both (San Fran State U in CA and USF (South FL). This year, I was accepted to UMB and UCF and both had a little more lengthy app process. I also applied to UF, but I am guessing that that will be a no-go too since they give priority to their students first. Either way, I am going to UMB. USF is a good school; I wish you the best and hope you get in; good luck! :)

Hello all,
I am currently an FSU nurse about to graduate in a few weeks! I loved this program and I feel like I have received an amazing educate. Like all nursing programs, it is tough and competitive, but totally worth it!
As far as clinicals in Orlando and Jacksonville, we no longer do clinicals in Orlando, but there is 1 weekend in Jacksonville for our pediatric rotation...so no need to worry about traveling too much.
If anyone has any questions about the program, feel free to ask!
