Do RN's do CC?

Posted

I am a Hospice LPN. I've been working hospice for about 6 months now. I LOVE IT! Finally, I can really make a difference with the pt and with the family. I am also working on becoming a RN. Now that I have found my new passion (Continuous Care) I am worried that when I become an RN I will be delegated to admissions and "visits"!

Please someone tell me if I can stay at bedside for my 12-13 hour shifts of loving care?!:heartbeat

RNs can do continuous care but since most of it involves the LPN level of care, you will most likely find yourself settling for the LPN rate of pay. Only a good agency will pay an RN something more than they pay the LPNs to work on those particular cases.
