Do you have to get your masters before your doctorate (clinical) for crna? Also, is it true that all crna's must go for their doctorate (clinical) by next year, 2015?? This is concerning for me, because this is my dream job and i would like to know what im getting myself into. Im smart and believe i can handle schooling...just want to know if i need msn and dnp????? I looked into some schools and they said dnp is 36 months...so how long in total?

AANA Announces Support of Doctorate for Entry into Nurse Anesthesia Practice by 2025
The requirement for DNP/DNAPs for new CRNAs is 2025 not 2015 even though the AACN recommendation is 2015. You can go directly from a BSN to DNP/DNAP. The program length will be a minimum of 36 months with some schools offering part of the initial program online that way you can still work while going to school ( see Texas Christain University for an example).

Current CRNAs dont have to get a DNP. And it will be a few years before new ones HAVE to get one. Currently, some programs offer it as an option.
