Do doctors in AU employ nurses?

i am considering looking for a clinical job. i worked in the us for a group of ob/gyn doctors and loved my job!

is it possible to get a job working for a doctor in au? and if so, what are the typical duties of a clinic nurse here?

Not too sure about Melbourne but there are not too many clinic nurses here not as you would know them in the US. However one avenue, if you are interested, is sexual health nurse. It can be an independant role operating under either state of commonwealth.

You are also more likely to get better pay working in acute care because of the shift work penalties. One avenue to explore over here though, is to actually go for midwifery qualification. This would allow you to become an independant midwife eventually.
