Do any of your agencies use ID numbers for charting?

Have you ever put your name in www.zabasearch.com ?

It will give your home address and phone number, usually. I know mine's in there! There are other databases like this one, too.

Anyway, I was thinking....all the inmate has to do is see our big ol' name stamp when we have a chart open in front of him/her, remember the name and do a search when they get out! (We call each other "nurse" in front of inmates.) When we chart, we use our signature and a name stamp. I don't normally stamp it right in the presence of the inmates, but they could see the previous nurse's stamp when I open the chart to see him. What if he didn't like that nurse? You get the idea.

I was wondering if any of your facilities use ID numbers, that way your name isn't all over the chart? You would sign your name and use your ID number. The supervisor would have a list of whose signature belongs to which ID number (since most signatures aren't all that legible, which is a good thing in this case).

Do any of your facilities use this system? If so, is it working?

Thanks :nurse:
