Unfortunately I can't speak from experience here but can just give some general advice/support. Like previous poster said I wouldn't get my hope up only because it's deemed at their discretion to discharge you from the program for whatever reasons they have outlined. Even though not all may be true they will find a way to justify it and can simply say a disruption within the program is enough. It sounded as if you said the other student was dismissed as well which sounds like they in their opinion got rid of both "violators". I'm sorry this has happened and would recommend doing like you mentioned and appealing it and best of luck. If anything maybe another program will allow you to transfer into and you can get a letter of recommendation from any instructors that may be on your side.

I as dismissed from my nursing program. I had a situation with another student harassing me. She continued and continued. I made ONE STATEMENT back. Following the incident I immediately reported it. I was asked to sign a form stating we would avoid each other. I signed. She did not. Two days later, in clinical she began taking pictures of me. I immediately reported this to student services as well as my instructors. I received an email I was suspended. Following the suspension, we agreed to compromise by me going to night classes, and her changing clinical sites. We had no further problems until a month later she was moved back to my site. I reported this to the school and once again my clinical instructor. I was told she would be moved. The next week I received an email that I was terminated from the program. The reasons stated in the letter are
1. Use Verbal profanity- I made one statement and it was resolved with the signing of the paper in agreement to avoid contact with each other. She refused to sign.
2. Causing a disturbance to the class- never happened and my teacher will vouch
3. Threatening to cause physical harm.- never happened
4. Disregard for policy- not sure what this is about
5. Improper use of phone- I recorded our meeting for my own protection. I was written up and we agreed to delete the recording in administrator presence, which I did. The other student was terminated.
I have an appeal Monday. From an impartial view how does this look?
