Difficult Medical Microbiology or Human Genetics?

Which courses are difficult Medical Microbiology or Human Genetics?

Thanks! :)

Hello!

The only class that includes genetics in Molloy's nursing program is Patho which was a difficult course. I managed to get an A in Micro so I guess I'd say patho is harder.

FYI: I can't send you any PM's because it says your inbox is full so here's my response to your question:

I suggest you go to Molloy to fill out an application in the admissions office so they can answer any of your questions while filling it out. You will need to have your college(s) send over official transcripts to Molloy so they can accept transfer credits. Then you will wait to get the acceptance letter!

Once accepted you'll need to take the Nelson Denny(reading and vocab) exam as well as a 20 Question Math test which admissions will tell you about. There should be a list on the molloy website on when the tests are offered, otherwise you can get the info from the admissions office. There are study guides online if you google "nelson denny practice test" and Molloy's website has a practice worksheet for the 20 question math test (it is very helpful.) You need to get 18/20 correct on the math in order to pass and as for the Nelson Denny I forget what the requirement is but it is def on the Molloy website. You'll get your ID card at orientation.

I would suggest you apply as soon as possible because I had wait 1 year to get in because the program gets full very quickly. If you apply now you may get into Spring 2014 if not then Fall 2014. Other than that, the admissions office is very helpful and if you have any questions about financial aid you can get their extensions on the Molloy website. They will help and answer all of your questions. Once you get accepted then you can worry about the financial aid part of it!

Good luck!

I've heard genetics is really hard. so I've been told.

Specializes in Operating Room.

Microbiology was much easier for me than Genetics. I took a Genetics class designed specifically for nursing students, and I guess having taken a general Biology course prior to completing Microbiology helped with my success in Genetics. It was a difficult course, especially given the professor I had, but I managed to pull a B.

Thanks for your input!! :) The Genetics course I plan on taking is affiliated with the Biology department.

No problem! Mine was affiliated with the Biology department as well, but only nursing majors could register for it. *shrugs* I know there was another general Genetics course for Bio majors, but regardless, the one I took was difficult. Good luck with your course! As long as you put the time and effort into understanding the material, I have no doubt you'll excel and do great! :-)
