I am interested in becoming a whnp, but what is the difference between a midwife and a whnp.

Simple difference...CNM can do delivers and NP can't.

Yep, CNMs catch babies. WHNP deal with women's health, can do prenatal care but not the delivery, and primarily gyn.

Catching babies.
True, I was inferring that she was referring to a certified nurse-midwife, when it's possible she was not. There are also CPMs and DEMs, which don't require a nursing degree.
