Didn't get Pearson Vue Pop-up.. Finished with 75 Questions

Published

I am so new to this website but have found it so helpful while studying for NCLEX..

Today I actually took the NCLEX and have no idea how to feel.

I've always been told to feel good when the computer shuts off at 75 questions, but I am so apprehensive.

I came home to see that the delivery of my results was successful, and I got sent to the credit card page of pearson vue.

I got at least 15 Select All That Apply questions, 3 medication questions, no calculations, and at least 35-40 prioritization questions.

I have been trolling my BON website but I see nothing.

Anybody have any helpful tips/ know anybody who was similiar?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Well, stopping at the minimum number of questions is either very good news or very bad news. You either were able to demonstrate that you were at or above passing throughout the exam, and there was no point in giving you more questions; competency determined.

OR.....you were demonstrating that you were below the minimum passing standards, and the computer "knew" that no matter how many more questions it gave, you were never going to be at or above the passing standard.

Which is more likely?

I don't like to comment much on the "trick", because going to the CC page usually means failure...but NOT ALWAYS.

What do you think?

I have been doing Kaplan since junior year of nursing school, and then after graduation up until yesterday, and took many tests prior to the NCLEX that were considered JUST passing level questions. I did fairly well on them, and the majority of the questions I was getting today were what I guess Kaplan would consider passing questions? There were very few knowledge based questions that I received. I'm just very thrown off by the Pearson Vue Trick.

If your State participates in Quick Results, you might want to spend the $8 for it. It will at least tell you if you passed or failed; if there's any reason actual licensing might be delayed (only you would know that) then the Quick Results won't matter. Assuming nothing to prevent a license being issued....the Quick Results will tell you what you need to know.

Barring that, your official resuls are sent in the mail.....good luck!

Hopefully you'll get to keep your user name :)

I'd say just wait until you get your official results. Do you feel Kaplan helped at all?

I honestly love Kaplan. The rationales are the part that really helped me. Time will only tell though if it was enough to help me.

I wish you the best
